It took a Ross County Common Pleas Court jury only an hour April 2 to rule that a Ross Correctional Institution inmate was involved in a plot to kill his sister-in-law. The jury found Marcus Bloomfield, 27, guilty of conspiracy to commit murder. Prosecutors said that more than a year ago, Bloomfield offered $10,000 to an inmate who was about to be paroled if the inmate would kill Debbie Davis. Davis had obtained custody of Bloomfield's two sons. The discharged inmate instead told his parole officer about the plot. Bloomfield is in prison for 20 years for the rape and murder of his estranged wife. He could be sentenced to an additional 10 years on the conspiracy charge. Bloomfield is at the state prison in Lucasville awaiting sentencing. |
