| Corrections Officer Evades Prison Sentence For Sex Offenses |

A corrections officer accused of forcing a female inmate to perform oral sex on him pleaded guilty last Thursday. Ellano Draughon, 36, of Baltimore, pleaded guilty to engaging in sexual contact with an inmate on Sept. 2, 2002. The judge sentenced Draughon to 3 years in prison, suspended, 3 years probation and 80 hours community service. During his arraignment in June, Draughon plead not guilty to the charges. No reason was reported as to why Draughon changed his plea. Department of Public Safety and Corrections spokesman Mark Vernarelli confirmed for that Draughon was terminated shortly after the incident. |
