| Jewish inmates to get kosher meals |

Everything's finally kosher at Everglades Correctional Institution. A little more than a month after adhering to an inmate's request for kosher meals, the Florida Department of Corrections has said kosher servings will soon be available to Jewish inmates at any state facility, upon request. According to corrections spokesman Sterling Ivey, the department is finalizing a formal policy that is likely to be in place by the beginning of February. "We're allowing one inmate the ability to have kosher meals," Ivey said. "So it's only fair to the other inmates to let them practice their faith." |
