Two state prison employees and another woman were booked with soliciting for prostitutes after flashing obscene signs at motorists, police said. Two juveniles also were taken into custody. Police said the handmade signs read things such as 'Will Work for Sex.' Other signs gave a price for sexual favors. One sign had drawings of body parts on it, Assistant Police Chief John Augustine said. Nicole T. Aymond, 19, of Hessmer, Brandi Lynn Lemoine, 21, of Mansura and Missy Sue Almond, 21, of Cottonport each face a charge of soliciting for prostitutes. The juveniles were released to their parents. Police did not release how old the juveniles were and whether or not they were issued citations. Almond and Lemoine are employed at the Avoyelles Correctional Center in Cottonport. Prison officials confirmed their employment recently but did not release a statement on their job status. On June 27, police received a complaint about 4:54 a.m. of a vehicle with occupants holding up signs to passing motorists. Officers said the vehicle, which had a fake hand hanging out of the trunk, was located, and the group was taken into custody. The women were allowed to post bail at the police department and were released. If convicted, the women face fines up to $500 and prison sentenced of up to six months. |
