Two inmates at the federal penitentiary were stabbed Wednesday during an altercation in the prison yard, according to KMBC reports. The incident happened at about 6:30 p.m. The inmates were stabbed with what were believed to be homemade knives. They were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Prison officials said their injuries were not life-threatening. Several other inmates were hurt as well, according to reports. Officials said those injuries were 'bruises and bumps,' and the inmates were being treated inside the prison. Officials said the nature of the dispute is under investigation. |
