Potatoes from wreck to benefit jail inmates

Potatoes that spilled from an 18-wheeler on Monday will be donated to the Hinds County, Miss., Sheriff's Department to feed jail inmates, officials said.
The trailer was carrying 49,000 pounds of potatoes when the trailer broke, spilling part of its load along the interstate near U.S. 49 in Rankin County.
Part of the eastbound lane was partially blocked as Hinds County inmates loaded the potatoes into a trailer, said Maj. Dan Smith of the Hinds County Sheriff's Department.
