Ray Barham, 72, a convicted murderer who wrote columns from his New Hampshire prison cell for The Concord Monitor, died Monday in a prison infirmary. He was 72 and 'cancer ended his life sentence,' wrote Monitor writer Stephanie Hanes. Barham was convicted in 1983 of first-degree murder after shooting his estranged wife's boyfriend. Starting in 1987, Barham's columns described prison life and gave a behind-bars take on current events. Read Barham's obituary in the Concord Journal. |
