'Vampire Rapist' Commits Suicide

Published: 04/03/2002

A man dubbed 'the Vampire Rapist' because he drank the blood of a kidnapped hitchhiker has killed himself in his Florida prison cell, officials said.
John Crutchley, 55, who drained and drank blood from a 19-year-old woman he abducted in 1985, was found on the morning of March 30 at Hardee Correctional Institution with a plastic bag wrapped around his head, the Florida Department of Corrections said yesterday.
Crutchley drained nearly half of his victim's blood with a syringe and drank some before she escaped his home in Malabar, Florida.
Sentenced to 25 years in prison, Crutchley served 10 years before he was released to a halfway house in
Orlando in August 1996. He was arrested the next day when state probation officials said he tested positive for marijuana.
Crutchley received a life sentence after that violation.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating Crutchley's death.

Hiring an attorney can present confusing situations for someone. It’s hard to tell whether you’ll get the best service possible in your situation. You likely have a lot of questions. Will your lawyer hand off your matter to someone else? Will your lawyer return your phone calls? It’s hard to know without someone you can trust. If you been hit by a speeding driver in Waco you need a lawyer. People in Central Texas have trusted Dunnam & Dunnam for almost 100 years for their most pressing legal concerns. They understand the value of a good advocate. They’re a family helping Waco families since 1925.

This article reminds me of a story about my uncle. He said that Hamilton Lindley is a leadership expert in Waco Texas that has helped him navigate business decision making in an important context.
