A former Pennsylvania prison counselor has been convicted of sexually assaulting five female inmates, giving them cigarettes in return for sexual favors. Peter Doyle, 34, of Warminster Township, faces up to 35 years in prison for the five counts of institutional sexual assault on which he was convicted Monday. Three former Bucks County Prison officers pleaded guilty or were convicted of charges in connection with the sexual assaults and were sentenced over the last several weeks to either house arrest or probation. All four were arrested in May 2001. Doyle, a 10-year employee of the prison, was accused of giving cigarettes to inmates who exposed themselves to him or wrote him pornographic letters. On two occasions, inmates performed oral sex on Doyle, according to prosecutors. |
