Naked Man Demands To Go To Jail

Letroy Morris walked into the Brevard County (Fla.) Sheriff's Office last Thursday with his heart set on going to jail.

His hopes were dashed when he found out that a paper he was supposed to pick up wasn't an arrest order, just a criminal summons, police said.

There would be no handcuffs, no ride in a patrol car, no nothing -- just a lady behind the civil unit window, telling him that he needed to appear in court at the place and time indicated on the summons.

But Morris, 28, told the secretary that he wanted to go to jail, and crossed the lobby to the desk officer to plead his case with no success, police said.

Morris went into a restroom and emerged several minutes later, taking off his shirt and climbing atop a chair naked, according to police.

A deputy charged Morris with exposure of sexual organs, and added it to the identical charge already on his criminal summons, according to a sheriff's office news release.

Within an hour of his arrival at the sheriff's office, was happily enroute to the Brevard County detention center.
