Razor Blade Found In Inmate's Soup

Some inmates at the Maine Correctional Center have chosen not to eat the prison's cafeteria food after an inmate found a small piece of a razor blade in his clam chowder.
Jonathan Linton, who received a small cut in his mouth from the razor last week, called the incident an attempt on his life by other inmates.
But prison officials have assured Linton and other inmates that the incident was isolated and not directed at a specific individual.
A group of about eight prisoners have subsequently chosen not to eat the cafeteria food until security is improved in the serving lines, said Scott Burnheimer, the prison's superintendent.
Some inmates have chosen to purchase food at the prison's commissary, Burnheimer said, and some have reportedly gone without food for two days.
Cafeteria security workers are currently on a heightened alert on serving lines, Burnheimer said.
