| N.J. Inmate on House Arrest Faces Murder Charge |

A state prison inmate under house arrest allegedly choked a man until he was unconscious, then ordered two friends to wrap him in duct tape and put him in a car that they set on fire. The inmates and his two friends were all charged with murder. Sherman Artwell, 32, of Camden, was being monitored by an electronic device, but it was turned off for six hours on Sunday as a reward for good behavior and so Artwell could attend to some personal business, authorities said. During that time, an argument broke out between Artwell and Ronald T. Jackson, 44. After choking Jackson unconscious, Artwell told Zoranda Paulson, 30, to get the duct tape, authorities said. Artwell then had Paulson and Jonathan Martin, 19, wrap Jackson in duct tape, and Jackson was put in his car several hours later. His body was found around 4 a.m. a day later when police responded to the car fire. The suspects were being held Thursday in the Camden County Jail. |
