Article:
West Des Moines, June 1, 2007: The Federal Bureau of Prisons (Bureau) has licensed ATG’s Pharmacy Administration System for all its 114 institutions nationwide. The system has been successfully piloted and full deployment is expected to be completed in 24 months.

Dr Chris Bina, Bureau’s Director of Pharmacy Program says that ATG’s “Bureau's Electronic Medical Record (BEMR) and the associated pharmacy software (BEMR Rx) will result in a fully integrated application increasing efficiency, functionality, and program oversight. The performance of the delivered application has exceeded my expectations. The flexibility, accessibility, ideas, and exceptional trouble shooting response afforded by your company have been extraordinary. The customer service exhibited by you and your staff during the development and roll out of this application has been second to none.”

Typical health records software is designed to serve public hospitals and private medical clinics; it does not adapt well to serve needs of correctional institutions. ATG’s Pharmacy Administration and Electronic Medical Records solutions have been very successful in correctional environments because they are a product of collaborative effort with medical personnel practicing in correctional environments.

ATG’s Offender Management Suite enable correctional agencies to more effective manage the offender population. The suite is comprised of:
  • Electronic Medical Records
  • Pharmacy Administration
  • Inmate Trust Fund Accounting
  • Commissary Operations
  • Case Management
  • Inmate Secure Email
  • Inmate Telephone System
  • Digital Phone Recorder
  • Food Service Administration
  • Intelligence System
About the Bureau
The Bureau is responsible for the custody and care of over 193,000 Federal offenders. Approximately 85 percent of these inmates are confined in Bureau-operated correctional facilities or detention centers. The Bureau's approximately 35,000 employees ensure the security of Federal prisons, provide inmates with needed programs and services, and model mainstream values.
