Arizona county employee wins award for implementing new technology
|By Digital Solutions Inc.|
June 5, 2008 -- Altoona, Pennsylvania – Carol File, the Detention Services Records Manager with Yavapai County, recently was awarded the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office 2007 Civilian Employee of the Year Award for the outstanding job she has done by implementing an innovative new Offender Management System from Digital Solutions Inc. and Offender Communication System from Inmate Telephone Inc.
Yavapai County, Arizona, operates two facilities, a 143 bed jail in Prescott, AZ and a 644 bed jail in Camp Verde, AZ. In 2007, both county jails’ inmate telephone contracts expired leaving the county officials to release a request for proposal for the inmate telephone system and other value added services. Through the request for proposal process, Yavapai County selected Digital Solutions / Inmate Telephone, Inc. from Altoona, PA to provide its inmate telephone system and jail management system.
Yavapai County, AZ was Digital Solution Inc.’s first account to utilize its new web based Offender Management System called Evolution. The decision to proceed with Digital Solutions / Inmate Telephone, Inc. came from, according to Ms. File, its ability to have a new innovative technology implemented in the county as well as to receive the Offender Management System for free with the signing of a contract for inmate telephone services through Inmate Telephone Inc. According to Ms. File the project has been successful thus far, because, “the staff at DSI has worked hand in hand with our staff forming a partnership that has allowed us both to provide a more efficient system for our county’s detention centers.”
