West Des Moines, Oct 1, 2008: The North Carolina Department of Corrections (NCDOC) has licensed ATG’s Pharmacy Administration System for all its 78 institutions serving 37,000 inmates. The system will further automate NCDOC’s centralized pharmacy which processes and dispenses orders which are then delivered to institutions. Initial order volume will be in excess of 4500 on weekdays and 1000 on weekends. The system is expected to be fully deployed by April 2009.

The system has already been successfully deployed at all 116 Federal Bureau of Prisons institutions nationwide as well as 9 Iowa Department of Corrections institutions. It currently supports over 180,000 inmates, processing 1,500,000 new orders annually.

Typical health records software is designed to serve public hospitals and private medical clinics; it does not adapt well to serve needs of correctional institutions. ATG’s Pharmacy Administration and Electronic Medical Records solutions have been very successful in correctional environments because they are a product of collaborative effort with medical personnel practicing in correctional environments. < br />< br /> ATG’s Offender Management Suite enable correctional agencies to more effective manage the offender population. The suite is comprised of:
  • Electronic Medical Records

  • Pharmacy Administration

  • Inmate Trust Fund Accounting

  • Commissary Operations
