Article:
BOULDER, Colo.—June 24, 2009—BI Incorporated, a national provider of offender monitoring technology, treatment and training services for community-based offenders, announces the availability of BI TotalAccess,™ a single software interface for customers. With TotalAccess, BI customers can access and update offender data, no matter what technology an offender is being monitored with, through a single, password-protected login. TotalAccess was developed for supervising community corrections officers juggling many responsibilities and large caseloads.

Today, BI offers agencies more than a dozen offender monitoring technologies, including several systems with GPS tracking capabilities, radio-frequency monitoring, even alcohol monitoring. Previously, officers were required to login and out between software systems to access, view, or update offender data. Now, the consolidated access and single platform speeds access to data for officers.

“TotalAccess is the culmination of our development efforts and something we’re very proud to bring to fruition. We’ve listened to our customers who are being asked to do more with fewer resources today,” said Andrea Young, CIO and vice president development.

With TotalAccess, community corrections officers can login in at www.bi.com to access all program information for their agency. From there, officers can enroll or remove clients from the system; view and process violation alerts; view, enter and modify data, such as GPS tracking zones and schedules; and develop and download reports.

“With state and local government battling serious budget shortfalls, many are turning to offender monitoring systems to support parole and probation officers. Our job is to provide them with the best technology and make it easy for them to use it. TotalAccess is an excellent example of using technology to improve routine functions,” said Bruce Thacher, president and CEO, BI Incorporated.

In addition to its consolidated access benefit, TotalAccess offers several other features, including:
  • Ability to access TotalAccess via PDA with Internet access
  • A “one-touch” alert notification for officers to manage alerts from an email hyperlink
  • “Group zones” that allow an agency to assign a set of GPS tracking zones for caseloads versus individuals
  • Intuitive navigation
  • Inventory management advantages
  • Improved caseload-at-a-glance homepage
  • Ability to search by agency, officer, client or combination of these variables
  • Custom reports and more.
