BIRMINGHAM, AL — NaphCare, Inc., an independent partner to correctional facilities nationwide for innovative healthcare management and technology solutions, has been awarded a new five-year contract to provide comprehensive healthcare services for the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) in Bennettsville, South Carolina.
“Our entire team has worked hard to foster a strong and positive relationship with the FCI to pursue our mutual goal of managing each and every inmate patient as efficiently as possible,” said Katherine Tarica, NaphCare’s Vice President of Off-Site Operations. "We’re excited to be able to continue building upon a great partnership with FCI Bennettsville.”
NaphCare has been administering the off-site medical program for FCI Bennettsville’s inmate population since 2012 under a blanket purchase agreement, and this new contract will extend those services until 2019. FCI Bennettsville is a medium security prison housing 1,700 male inmates.
NaphCare will continue to actively manage the medical services for FCI Bennettsville and will work closely with the prison medical staff to streamline the delivery of inmate medical care by using proven cost-saving strategies common in the private sector, like negotiating discounted rates at area hospitals, ensuring that only approved and medically necessary care is administered, and reviewing every medical claim for accurate billing and coding.
