NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) - Two jolts of electricity ended the life of death row inmate Stephen West as the state carried out his death sentence Thursday night.
The convicted killer was set to die at 7 p.m. by electric chair. He was pronounced dead at 7:27 p.m.
The 56-year-old was convicted for the 1986 murders of Wanda and Sheila Romines. The Union County mother and her daughter died from what were described as “torture type” stab wounds. Court documents suggest West also raped the 15-year-old girl.
